Secure the coordination and efficient operations of the Out Flow Team (including customer delivery store) resulting in increased sales and profitability at the lowest possible cost and to secure IKEA as the best home furnishings store in the local market

YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations, activities and staff of the Out Flow Team (including customer delivery store) , including recruitment, retention, scheduling, performance management, succession planning and competence development
  • Provide visitors with a positive shopping experience by ensuring that customer convenience standards in the Warehouse are met and/or exceeded ( incl. waiting time )
  • Plan, organize, monitor, and improve store Out Flow processes to ensure products are readily available for customers after purchase
  • Optimize the utilization of existing store logistics capacities within the warehouse and customer delivery areas
  • Provide input to Logistics Manager regarding store logistic capacity requirements within the warehouse and customer delivery areas and the performance and actions taken to sustain or improve the performance of services of transport providers
  • Optimize the efficient flow of goods to the customer in partnership with Customer Services Team; focusing on minimizing the wait time
  • Evaluate and ensure action is taken to improve goods flow operations resulting in minimized store logistics costs and increased productivity
  • Establish strong partnerships with matrix organizations to achieve the location’s business goals
  • Work in partnership with the Sales Management Team to plan and monitor the phasing in and out of the Full Serve / Self Serve range to result in increased productivity and sales
  • Work in partnership with the Self Serve Management team to plan and implement the Full Serve and Self Serve areas according to the IKEA Concept
  • Maintain the Store Goods Flow system in accordance to agreed routines/procedures including Basic Actions
  • Support the inventory process
  • Secure the volume resources planning for Out Flow areas and communicate the volume demands
  • Secure the implementation of sales space management in the warehouse
  • Monitor, analyze, and report damages in designated area’s; focusing on continuously working to minimize costs associated with internal damages

  • Ensure that Basic Actions are monitored, maintained and co-workers are knowledgeable of and performing their responsibilities in the business area
  • Attract, develop, and inspire co-workers by realizing the Human Resource Idea to become the best retailer to work for
  • Establish, implement, review and update plans to secure ongoing development of competence and succession within your function and location
  • Perform store leadership actions/activities, such as Duty Manager shifts, open and close functions, and team meetings
  • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur.
YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Knowledge/Experience:

    • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field; or High School Diploma and Logistics related certificate and/or relevant IKEA experience
    • 2-3 years IKEA management experience, preferably in Logistics, customer service, sales and/or supply or 2-3 years external management experience preferably in retail, and /or services
    • Proven experience in detecting efficiency opportunities and applying solutions to decrease costs without compromising IKEA values, Commercial Review standards, while maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, and Local legislation and store safety standards
    • Previous experience with logistics power equipment (forklift certification required within 1 year)
    • Computer aptitude – including Microsoft applications and internal IKEA systems; advanced proficiency with MS Excel & MS Word preferred
    • Knowledge and understanding of and a passion for IKEA values and principles
    • Knowledge of the IKEA Brand and logistics such that you are a subject matter expert and can develop competence in co-workers Capabilities/Motivation:

    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills in order to monitor, review, and implement actions to improve logistics operations
    • Interest in Home Furnishings
    • Fluent in English (written and verbal skills) Additional Information

    • Work Location: Fast-paced, deadline driven, high volume retail store
    • Physical/Mental Demands (Essential Functions): Ability to access and observe all selling and non-selling areas
    • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress
    • Use of logistics equipment (certifications required)
    • Ability to communicate with co-workers and manage conflict
    • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs (25 kg.)
    • Physical/Mental Demands (Non Essential Functions): Bending, stretching and reaching, moving products with or without powered equipment
    • Travel: Occasional domestic travel
