1.The Outreach Coordinator will work with the Executive Director, and or person designated by the Executive Director, to identify needs and potential funding sources.
2.The OC will help in the design of needs assessment projects with collaborating and partner agencies. S/he will also coordinate projects or initiate relevant projects consistent with IVAT’s mission.
3.Public/Community Relations & Recruitment:
•Act as a spokesperson for IVAT, and may be involved with television, radio and other public events to promote IVAT; works with the University for IVAT events publicity overall
•Manages IVAT’s quarterly e-newsletter
•Serves as gatekeeper of IVAT social media sites
•Create and implement annual outreach plan
•Recruits Exhibitors for IVAT conferences; creates & updates database; responsible for maintaining exhibitors & creates programs for retention
•Provides IVAT exposure on other non-IVAT or Alliant events
•Work with other agencies/organizations for possible co-sponsorships (financial or in-kind)
•Work with Executive Director and staff to develop outreach plans to recruit new volunteers and clients in line with IVAT objectives
•Work with the Programs & Volunteer Coordinator with the recruitment and placement of IVAT volunteers; updates the volunteer manual on a regular basis
•Work with the Programs & Volunteer Coordinator in the management of the volunteer database and volunteer retention program
•Conduct and compile annual volunteer and planning committee, exhibitor satisfaction surveys
•Maintain relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones; create & update collaborator database; updates forms & information on the website
•Work with Marketing Coordinator on collaborative marketing
•Oversee the comprehensive database for the Institute
•Assist in the creation of collateral material in support of outreach & marketing strategies
•Identify media relations opportunities & develop brochures, related media advisories and/or press releases
•Attend relevant community meetings to increase IVAT’s visibility, develop relationships with organizations with which we might partner or seek funding & contribute to the overall mission of promoting local collaboration & with local agencies; participate in relevant councils, roundtables and committees
•Maintain membership in local professional organizations; develop relationships and network to increase/promote, IVAT’s fundraising efforts
•Represent IVAT at local & regional community events; assist the publications & dissemination department through IVAT Bookstore in these events
•Provide community presentations, as needed
•Coordinate members of planning committee subcommittees related to collaboration, outreach (international and national) and publicity; strategize methods to retain existing supporters and assess markets to establish new support resources
•Ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness through in-kind donations and volunteers

The Outreach Coordinator (OC), under the general direction of the Executive Director, or person the Executive Director assigns, will provide oversight/coordination of the Institute’s outreach and promotion efforts including: community relations development; organizing outreach events including, sales and planning related activities to assist promoting services and receiving donations; involvement and support for the conferences as needed; and other administrative tasks.
The Outreach Coordinator will be dedicated to providing high quality service to all constituencies of Alliant International University. S/he will exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical principles and will be committed to the tenets of Alliant International University’s IVAT Mission and Vision.
Bachelor’s Degree required in Mental Health, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Business or related fields. Person with a Master’s degree in one of these fields is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications
Three-plus years of progressively more responsible experience in the outreach, marketing, public relations or communications field. Nonprofit experience preferred.
