Junior-level role responsible for managing and coordinating chapter public outreach, media relations, government relations and other constituency and community development activities. Detailed Description Build additional opportunities for families to connect with JDRF's Family Network Program. Assist families in development of family JDRF Walk Teams and fundraising efforts. Coordinate all aspects of Non-fundraising Family Event. Work with and assist the Chair of Communications Committee. Create a bank of personal stories from JDRF families to have available for open and/or unplanned media opportunities. Develop a Speakers Bureau and secure participants, coordinate speaking opportunities, maintain data from presenters and conduct speakers' training special events Responsible for JDRF's Family Team Program with the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes - recruiting new families, mentoring them to fundraise, assisting with tools, etc. Help with other chapter events as needed
Job Requirements
Associates Degree preferred but not required. One - two (1-2) years of fundraising experience with exposure to media campaigns. Knowledge of administrative procedures such as coordination of people and resources, planning and resource allocation. Knowledge of clerical procedures, such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, etc. Experience with computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Develop and prepare presentations, reports, and business correspondence. Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure. Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Team player with the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Highly skilled at developing and maintaining relationships. Excellent written, oral and communications skills. Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative. Well disciplined self-starter, extremely resourceful. Additional Details
