I. PROGRAM SUMMARY:
PACE was awarded two contracts by Southern California Gas Company (The Gas Company) and Southern California Edison to provide energy conservation services (The Gas Company- Direct Assistance Program and Southern California Edison- Energy Management Assistance Program) to low income households in their service areas. The program will educate clients about energy efficiency and install/assess energy conservation measures in eligible households. Such measures may include minor home repair, weatherstripping, faucet aerators, low flow showerheads, furnace repair/replacements (homeowners only), refrigerator, compact fluorescent light bulbs, torchiere lamps and other energy efficient measures.
II. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
A highly organized Outreach Specialist that will complete work such as outreach, intake/eligibility and building assessments. The Outreach Specialist will work closely with the Program Manager and other team members in administering the two programs. The Outreach Specialist will primarily work in the field and will be tasked with outreaching to targeted areas, determine program eligibility of all applicants and complete assessment and intake of qualified dwellings. The essential duties include contacting customers of The Gas Company and Southern California Edison about the weatherization program, screening eligibility, scheduling appointments for intake, providing energy conservation education and completing building unit assessment for feasible measures to be installed.
III. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Plans and schedules outreach/marketing activities for the programs;
Work with funding sources to generate leads from the database programs for telemarketing and canvassing potential clients;
Determines and conducts intake eligibilities for all qualified clients;
Contacts management companies to promote the programs and obtain written agreements;
Sets and implements monthly production goals to ensure that ample amount of units/homes are provided to keep the crew busy on daily basis;
Coordinates activities with other field and office staff to ensure smooth flow of production;
Submits all completed client intake applications, required eligibility documents and building assessments in a timely manner;
Inputs client/landlord information into the database systems;
Awareness of program goals and compliance to funding sources policies and procedures;
Attends trainings and/or seminars required for the position provided by funding sources; must pass any examinations required by the training and/or seminar;
Shall observe safety procedures in accordance with agencys safety standards, Cal OSHA and Workmens Compensation standards.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
At least 2 years of field work in outreaching to low income families for home services;
Experience/knowledge with ethnic minorities in Los Angeles County;
Excellent oral communication and marketing skills;
Detail-oriented with excellent track record of documentation;
Ability to work well and collaboratively in a team environment;
Bilingual in Spanish and/or any of the following Asian languages: Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin), Vietnamese and Korean language strongly preferred;
Real Estate and/or Property Management experiences a plus;
Certificate for Basic Weatherization Training Program provided by certified training center a plus;
Certified Home Improvement Salesperson by State of California License Board and/or Edison Co. Home Assessment a plus;
Must be able to attend and pass The Gas Companys 5 day training course for intake/assessment and Southern California Edisons 2 day training course for home assessment;
Working hours are flexible.
V. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass employment background verification.
Must pass a pre-employment physical examination that includes drug and alcohol testing.
Must have a valid California Drivers License, reliable transportation and adequate automobile insurance coverage.
Must complete and pass the department of justice and FBI fingerprint requirements.

COMPENSATION: Commission only, may earn $3000-$6000 monthly, and depending on completed intake and assessment submitted
