The VHA Health Systems Outreach and Operations Support team is seeking an analyst capable of performing in an executive-level environment. The candidate will support communications efforts in addition to providing operational support. The analyst will support strategic and tactical communications tasks in a dynamic work environment. Typical communications tasks include:
Synthesizing content from a variety of sources into a coherent, concise message that is suitable for a variety of target audience
Creating content and managing the process for updating content on web sites and SharePoint sites
Reviewing and editing high visibility outgoing briefs, status reports, white papers, newsletters and memorandums
Drafting briefing documents, memoranda, white papers, etc. in response to office needs
Managing and tracking communications documents. The analyst will also provide systematic cross-cutting coordination of executive correspondence and outreach. This individual will manage requests, which require coordination between the Health Systems business areas. These requests must be evaluated, analyzed and consolidated into an office-wide response. The analyst will be asked to coordinate and participate in the planning of meetings that support key functions within the office. Candidate will receive assignments from team lead.
Duty location will be at the client site primarily at either L'Enfant Plaza or Silver Spring, MD. Candidate may be required to support both sites.

He/she should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to work flexibly with multiple stakeholders.
The candidate must have demonstrated strong writing and presentation creation skills.
He/she should be familiar and comfortable with use of web-based document management systems.
The candidate must possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and SharePoint in addition to proficiency in Visio.
A familiarity with standard professional writing styles and document management skills (change/version control) is also necessary for this role.
Candidate will assemble presentation content from multiple sources and provide final “polish” to high visibility presentations. He/she must have excellent executive presence and work well in a dynamic, multi-tasking, collaborative environment.
Candidates need to have an awareness of diplomacy, attention to detail and a complete emphasis on quality. An optimistic, team player with a “can do” attitude is highly valued.
Experience within the VA or DoD would be beneficial.
Basic project management knowledge is useful to understand the responsibilities of the office as well as skills needed to pro-actively manage one’s own assignments. *LI-DR
