THE POSITION: The Sales Representative will have two key responsibilities in YCharts: (1) prospecting multiple institutional customer segments introducing YCharts° Pro, and (2) working with those customers to sign up for our services. Sales Reps will quickly become well-versed on our customers, our products and the competition in the market. As well as, how YCharts PRO should be positioned to solve our target customers° needs in a more cost effective way. We encourage all individuals with interest in and knowledge of accounting, finance and economics to apply, but be prepared to spend the majority of your day prospecting, demo°ing and working directly with customers in person or over the phone/email.

Hence, excellent communication skills and a customer focus are a must. The position offers an opportunity to work with amazing coworkers who are building a differentiated and compelling product. Compensation includes base salary with a variable commission pay structure, as well as 100% employer covered health and dental insurance.

KEY DUTIES " RESPONSIBILITIES: Prospect new customer segments to inform a sales strategy that directly addresses major concerns that YCharts can solve with our product Exceed volume sales " performance based goals while working independently Work with customers to understand their investing or stock research needs, and consult with them to uncover places where YCharts° solutions can fit into their workflow Become the YCharts Pro expert: build knowledge of all features and data sets, as well as customer use cases to clearly communicate value in a sales pitch Support ongoing development: collect customer feedback, monitor competitor activity and provide recommendations for improvements to management REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong interest in and knowledge of stocks and financial markets/banking Top-notch verbal and written communication skills Proven track record of success in new account prospecting/development Extremely proactive, responsible and able to work well independently Superior relationship building skills and customer-first mentality Comfortable in an Internet environment with little support structure; able to successfully function independently REQUIREMENTS: 4-year degree – Economics, Accounting, Finance or Mathematical field a plus Experience selling financial data products such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar or CapitalIQ a major plus Technical savvy (more than just Microsoft Office) See sample interview questions below SAMPLE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: These are meant to be basic and should give you a sense if you have the foundational knowledge we are requiring for this job. We are a venture-funded company with offices in Chicago and New York City – the account manager position is a Chicago-based job. Our team ’s backgrounds include work and education at Google, Tribine Company, Lehman Brothers, Bear Sterns, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and The Wall Street Journal.
