This position is accountable for creating PNL forecasts for activities within Barclaycard Consumer Europe, a large ( > £10BN) and multi-geography (UK, Germany, Scandinavia) portfolio under manager's guidance.
The role will be accountable for creating PNL projections to be used for approval of marketing spend under manager's guidance. Base level PNLs for all activities will be developed and working closely with functional teams to support financial scenario modelling according to instructions.
Review the work with the manager. Present back findings internally and to business partners. Opportunity to participate in financial/business reviews updating management on a routine basis.

Provide best-in-class analytics
Work with the manager or the business team to transform high-level requests into focussed and specific analysis to support strategies Financial forecating, and understanding the strategy and financial/product structure differences by geography, depending upon legal, regulatory constraints and availability of data.
Deliver campaign financial models for ECM & Acquisitions based on the defined segmentation whilst adhering to the governance process associated with P&L modelling, and identifying new opportunities to improve program performance. Assessing performance of marginal business and making recommendations to improve performance on margin.
The role will be responsible for tracking forecasts versus actuals, work with the business team to understand the variances, summarizing the findings to be shared monthly at the NPV committee and review the results with the manager.
Complete analyses on time, meet deadlines from the NPV Committee and meet or exceed quality standards.
Provide support to business development activities and proposition development
Improve internal processes:
Identify new opportunities for enhancing/ streamlining service
Attend cross-functional forums, ensuring the manager is updated and MA is engaged early in the process
Participate in the operational engagement model between MA and other units
Discuss opportunities with the manager, formulate them into proposals under manager's guidance and implement
Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Work effectively with peers and management team to achieve shared business objectives.
A degree/diploma in a analytical/business related discipline
Effective in the use of analytical tools, including SQL, SAS and Excel
Ability to understand which data is important, drive insight from that data, assess the financial impact and recommend action
Conceptual thinking -good intellect and ability to focus on activities and their associated value generation across BCE.
Team working - Commitment and ability to work with, and in, cross-functional and virtual teams
Communication - Effectively and concisely communicate key issues and ideas through correspondences and verbally. Interface with various departments effectively to ensure project delivery.
Well developed personal organisation and commercial acumen, with the ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines.
Experience analysing products/programmes through the lens of marginal P&L contribution, return on capital metrics and in line with strategic direction.

Industry knowledge (ideally experience with major international financial services firm)
Ability to convert analytical data into strategic insight and communicate that message effectively in PowerPoint

A self motivated team player who is able to define, structure and prioritise work for themselves as well as others, but who also has the flexibility and capability to change priorities when circumstances change.
Knowledge of the regulatory framework in which the business operates.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
