Judge Executive Search is seeking a Packaging Supervisor for a major pharmaceutical co- manufacturer in Texas. He or she will coordinate and supervise activities of workers in the department. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the guidance of employees. The supervisor will analyzes and resolve any work problems, or assist in solving work problems. Requirements and qualifications to successfully perform this job are listed below:
Responsibilities:
Reads production orders to decide the quantity and type of product, containers needed, and any additional packaging requirements
Examines products before packaging and returns defected products to production departments
Observes all packaging operations and inspects all containers to verify all specifications are met
Starts, alters, and fixes packaging machinery when possible
Notifies the maintenance department if something is not working properly
Enforces all safety regulations while explaining company policies to all workers
Trains the department personnel on OSHA, FDA and GMP and makes sure all are enforced
Plans and allocates work for the most best use of equipment and personnel
Suggests ways to improve equipment performance, production methods, and quality of the product
Recommends changes in use of equipment and working conditions to increase efficiency various areas of the company
Maintains records, including time and production
Reviews packaging paperwork and perform investigations on an as needed basis
Maintains log of all activities within the department; conducts audits
Understands and complies with all safety, quality and environmental practices and procedures as outlined by the company while adhering to federal, state and local regulations
Requirements:
Four year bachelor's degree; Engineering degree preferred (Mechanical or Industrial)
3+ years of related experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing shift operation
1+ year in the pharmaceutical industry as a supervisor (or similar field)
2+ years in pharmaceutical industry (or similar field)
Ability to solve problems on an as needed basis
Ability to interpret an extensive variety data collected
Must be a hands on leader
