The PAL (Police Athletic League) After School Counselor is responsible for the daily guidance of children in grades K-7; leads program activities; assists in planning daily activities; assists other counselors; teaches sports skills; supervises field trips; leads group games and art projects; develops and maintains positive parent/guardian relations; assists Recreation Assistant with the daily operation of the Eppes and South Greenville Recreation Centers; and other duties as assigned. Previous experience directing youth activities preferred.

Requirements: Must be at least 17 years old by June 15, 2013;
Must be available to work 15 - 20 hours per week between the hours of 2:30 pm-6:30 pm, Monday through Friday;
Must possess a valid NC driver's license;
CPR and First Aid certifications preferred but not required.
Requires ability to work well with children; ability to work in a team environment; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to express maturity in thought and work habits; ability to promote good conduct and act as a role model for program participants; ability to maintain effective and courteous working relationships with children, parents, employees, community organization partners, and the general public; ability to understand and abide by Greenville Police Department policies and procedures.

This position will function as a Summer Camp Counselor position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday during the 2013 summer program.
