Operates PBX communications system and all emergency communications equipment. Provides clerical and other support for front desk operations.
OPERATES PBX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM TO MAINTAIN COMMUNICATION IN THE FACILITY.
*Promptly and courteously answers all incoming calls.
*Accurately and rapidly routes calls in accordance with established guidelines.
*Accurately records messages and delivers to the appropriate party in a timely manner.
*Makes clear overhead announcements promptly and in accordance with established guidelines.
*Verifies daily all out dial trunks and watt are operational, performs troubleshooting and promptly notifies supervisor of any malfunction.
MONITORS AND TESTS ALL EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT AND SECURITY SYTEMS TO ENSURE CRITICAL COMMUNICATION AND SAFETY SYSTEMS ARE OPERATIONAL.
*Tests emergency telephone equipment, audible paging, zone paging, emergency pagers and manual microphone paging daily.
*Diligently monitors security systems: fire alarm panels, elevator trouble call box, and burglar systems.
PROVIDES CLERICAL AND OTHER SUPPORT FUNCTIONS TO ENSURE EFFICIENT OPERATION OF FRONT DESK.
*Provides professional and courteous patient information services for hospital each night and on weekends and holidays.
*Issues Dr. Blue pagers, provides minor repairs to voice and digital pagers, and accurately completes paperwork for warranty service and repair of pagers.
*Operates security base and utility base, providing prompt, courteous service to all security calls and relaying radio message promptly.
*Accurately updates, prints and delivers Microcall reports.
PERFORMS OTHER POSITION APPROPRIATE DUTIES AS REQUIRED IN A COMPETENT, PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS MANNER.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY:
*Must have basic computer knowledge.
*One to two years PBX operator experience preferred.
*One year of general office experience in the phone system communication field preferred.
