General Summary

PC technicians are responsible for the timely and effective configuration, delivery, and installation of personal computers, computer peripherals, and corporate standard software. They oversee the retirement and return of leased computers and computer equipment. PC technicians are responsible for building corporate images for desktops and laptops. They coordinate and oversee the testing, approval, and release of these images to the production environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Configures, delivers, and installs PCs, peripherals, and corporate standard software.

Oversees the building and maintenance of corporate computer images for laptops and desktops.

Organizes and oversees the return of leased computer equipment, and prepares out-of-date equipment for donation or disposal.

Provides information for use in management decisions on the selection of desktop, laptop, and computer peripherals.

Maintains inventory of computers and components.

Serves as backup to PC support specialists, providing end-user support under their guidance and direction.

Contributes, as a subject matter expert (SME) to the development, implementation and maintenance of PC-related policies, procedures, and standards that conform with organizational objectives and IT industry best practices.

Documents technical issues and their resolution, in accordance with corporate standards.


Job Qualifications


Associate’s degree in a computer-sciences related field, or equivalent and demonstrable training and experience. Microsoft certifications are a plus.


One (1) or more years experience as a full-time professional in the field of information technology, with a strong grasp of computer hardware and software fundamentals.

1 year Support Experience with Windows XP/Windows 7

Experience of Installing and Exchanging PC Hardware

Knowledge of Imaging PC Hardware


Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service, problem solving, and time-management skills.

Dedication to on-going technical education, both as a student and a teacher.

Able to perform heavy lifting.

Organize and oversee inventory accurately

Some Travel may be required
