The Patient Care Technician, under the direction of the nurse, assists in providing nursing care to a designated group of patients.
The patient care technician assists the patient in performing activities of daily living and monitoring the patient for specific needs.
The patient care technician will assist the nurse in completing complex treatments for the patient and to follow the direction of the nurse in completing various tasks associated with the nursing care for the designated group of patients.
The patient care technician will also tend to the patient’s individual needs while attempting to encourage the patient to reach a higher level of independence.
Current Florida Nurse Assistant Certification; or Corpsman, or current nursing student having completed the first clinical course in the hospital setting, or proof of licensure as a nurse in a country outside the United States.
