The Performance Analyst, under the general direction of the Workforce Improvement Manager, is responsible for assisting in the identification, production and analysis of data sets for Michigan Works! Muskegon-Oceana. A person in this class identifies data that can be used to manage and improve the quality of workforce services, analyzes causes of problems to provide recommendations for corrective actions to management and ensures compliance with state and federal reporting. The Performance Analyst handles data that may include, but not be limited to, data for locally defined benchmarks, annual reports, grant-based data and other various requests, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
Required Experience and Training
1. Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or closely related field; OR Possess an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university; AND Have a minimum of three (3) years' full-time work experience in labor market research or data analysis.
2. Possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
Physical Conditions / Work Location:
An employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activity requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.
This employee generally works in the offices of Muskegon-Oceana Michigan Works! although occasional travel throughout the State may be required.
The selected candidate must take a post-offer medical examination (including back screen and complete physical) and drug screening test given by a County appointed physician before the first day of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the medical examination and drug screening test. Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.

The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system. For each opening, the Department Head has her/his choice of the candidates who meet the required minimum entrance qualifications. This list remains in effect for three months unless exhausted or extended.
