Provide healthcare services for a specific population, under the supervision of physicians.
Provide direct and
indirect patient care including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and
evaluation of individuals. Provide comprehensive health assessments in the diagnosis, treatment and
outcome management of specific patient populations. Function in collegial relationships with members of
the health care team.
Identify expected outcomes derived from the assessment data and diagnoses and individualize expected outcomes with the client/specific populations, and with the health care team when appropriate.
Develop comprehensive plans that include interventions and treatments to attain expected outcomes.
Employ complex strategies and interventions to promote, maintain and improve health and prevent further illness and injury.
Evaluate the patient's progress to attain expected outcomes.
Use prescriptive authority, procedures and treatments in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations, and institutional guidelines.
Obtain cultures and request appropriate diagnostic studies (lab and x-ray) and be able to interpret test results and formulate plan of care accordingly.
Successful completion of a formal nationally accredited educational program for Physician Assistants required.
Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Colorado.
Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
CPR certification required.
Eligible to provide reimbursable Physician services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusions from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspector General (HHS/OIG) Cumulative Sanction Report or the General Services
Previous experience in urgent care setting preferred.
