Job Description

The Medical Physics Division in the Department of Radiation Oncology, M.G.H., is seeking a medical physicist. The position will performarange of medical physics dutiesincluding treatment planning, IMRT QA, LINAC QA, and others.

The main duty is to provide medical physics services to a satellite radiotherapy clinic in a suburban area of Boston. The routine responsibilities include 3-D conformal and IMRT treatment planning and physics QA. The individual will be encouraged to participate in developmental efforts on various clinical physics projects such as VMAT, SBRT, IGRT, etc.

Candidates with a strong experience in treatment planning and planning systems, particularly CMS XiO and RayStation, are encouraged to apply. Experience with Varian LINAC and OBI is beneficial.

Preferred candidates are graduates from a master's degree program in Medical Physics. Physicists with two to five years of clinical experience in related fields will also be considered. ABR certification is desirable but not required.

M.S. degree in medical physics program or in a related field is preferred.

Two to five years of clinical experience in the radiation oncology clinic or in a related field is preferred.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and is located in a beautiful suburban area of Boston. The individual will join the team of three radiation oncologists, a chief physicist, and a junior medical physicist to provide radiotherapy service at the clinic. The clinic is presently equipped with a Varian 21iX LINAC with OBI, a CT simulation unit, and a VisionRT system. The individual will also receive professional support from a large group of medical physicists at the MGH main campus.
