POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR IN EXPERIMENTAL CONDENSED MATTER-UCLA

Beginning in July 2013 our research group will have a postdoctoral position available in experimental condensed matter physics group. The candidate will join Prof. Ni Ni’s group and focus on synthesis and characterization of strongly correlated electron systems, such as unconventional superconductors, low dimensional systems, frustrated materials, heavy fermions, etc. A combination of single crystal growth, solid state reaction, X-ray, transport and thermodynamic measurements will be involved in the research. Candidates should have strong background and substantial research experience on strongly correlated electron systems with expertise on some of the following areas: magnetic, specific heat and transport measurements and analysis, material synthesis and crystal growth, structure determination, measurements under hydrostatic pressures. Applications should include a CV with a list of publications, a summary of research interests and electronic contact details of two references. All materials should be submitted electronically to Prof. Ni Ni via email ( nini@physics.ucla.edu ). Applications received before 04/15/2013 will be under full consideration. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. Ni Ni, Assistant professor, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of California, Los Angeles.
