This is one of the rare opportunities to drive an end-to-end business at Microsoft. The Hardware Marketing Team is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to champion the business for HD webcams and headsets that work with services such as Skype and on Windows devices, including Surface. This role will be responsible for driving the product portfolio and business needs for these product categories - on a global scale - and will work closely with many disciplines to successfully bring the products to market. Finally, they will have accountability for the global P&L, be responsible for the Go-to-market strategies for each product, and drive business plans to exceed profit targets.
Work with Program Management to define the product and make the business case to include the product on the roadmap. Be the key business and marketing decision maker for product definition decisions including identifying target customers, market sizing and forecasting, defining the value proposition, pricing, and competitive positioning.
Drive your businesses by intimately understanding our domestic and international channels and proactively employing the most effective marketing strategies and levers (pricing, promotions, PR, etc), securing support for initiatives through your channel and sales teams, and analyzing tradeoffs from a financial or relationship perspective to realize your business goals.
Work with Development and Manufacturing groups during the design and build phases to ensure your products deliver on its intended value propositions and quality expectations. And then work with Operations to ensure supply meets demand around the world. Finally, manage the product lifecycle from launch through transition and end of life.
Be the internal and external representative of your businesses whether educating the field on how to go-to-market with your products or being the product expert and advocate in press interviews.
5 or more years experience as a marketing professional/marketing manager, preferably with retail experience
Marketing, sales, and/or international experience
Strong analytical abilities including P&L analysis, SKU management and scenario modeling
Solid organization, leadership, team-building and negotiation capabilities
Organized and attention to detail is mandatory.
Proven experience in driving revenue in mature and startup businesses
Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a highly collaborative, team environment
Must have the ability to develop and lead teams and individuals
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) is required. MBA a plus.
Job Location: Redmond, Washington
Some travel within the U.S. and internationally is required.
