The Project Management discipline is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts. Establish and implement project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Assemble project plans and teamwork assignments, direct and monitor work efforts, identify resource needs, perform quality reviews and escalate functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately. Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Communicate with all areas of the enterprise that impact the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed. Partner with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Standardize the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities
The major responsibility of this position is leading large to complex IT projects, usually with diverse teams representing a variety of TU groups and divisions. This sometimes involves coordinating the work of others, ensuring that project milestones are identified and tracked, project documents are developed and approved, and that project reporting is provided for all stakeholders and team members in a timely manner. This position may be responsible for relationships with external customers and sales personnel and for understanding, documenting, researching and resolving business problems. This position may produce detailed functional specifications using an in-depth knowledge of TU products and/or systems to resolve business problems and meet business needs.
Lead large projects including all administrative tasks as well as resolving difficult issues and escalating them when necessary, leading meetings and presentations, monitor project due dates and milestones, coordinating the work of many diverse team members, groups and/or divisions and ensuring that all project stakeholders are informed of project status, issues, etc. in a timely manner.
Mentor other less experienced associates on project management tools and techniques, sometimes supervising their project tasks so that they can develop and improve their project management skills.
Ensure that standard project processes are developed or customized for each project so that changes to project scope, requirements, resources, functionality and risk are monitored, documented and communicated to all project stakeholders.
Propose new and improved project processes and standards, while following all existing project processes and standards consistently where they apply.
Provide post implementation support for complex projects and/or products that have been developed or enhanced to ensure that they are working effectively and efficiently and that customers' needs are addressed in a timely manner.
Interface with customers and sales personnel on complex IT requests, developing and understanding the customer's business, defining business problems and devising solutions to system or product related problems and issues, using in-depth knowledge of products and/or systems to develop detailed specifications to resolve those business issues and problems.
Propose and help develop new and improved project processes for ISSD project managers in order to improve the project management at TransUnion.

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or marketing. Typically has 5 years of experience in the areas of development, implementation or marketing with 5-7 years of project management experience.
High knowledge of all areas of business operations. Advanced ability to manage the most complex projects. Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations and organization skills. Able to resolve problems in a timely manner.
Excellent communication and organization skills are required. In-depth knowledge of TU products and/or systems may be preferred.
