To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
Five to ten years of experience with high volume, single site property acquisition (purchase, lease, partnership, etc.).

A demonstrated ability to identify and acquire non-traditional, under-utilized sites.

A proven ability to present the value proposition and sell the long-term relationship.

Fire in the belly and an aggressive drive to excel.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Solid computer savvy and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Internet research and mapping software.

A valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record.

A bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience.

You also will need to be willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time. This is a home-based role (we'll provide the tools you need to succeed) and our preference is that you are based (1) near a major airport and (2) near to major metropolitan areas that we'll be targeting:

In the Central US territory the ideal location would be the Chicago area; most of your target metros will be in the north-central states.

In the Eastern US territory the ideal location would be Washington, DC, Philadelphia, eastern New Jersey; most of your target metros will be in the northeastern states.

However, we also will consider highly qualified candidates in other relevant geographies, although that probably would mean more air and overnight travel.

These roles are established as full time employees, but we also will consider an independent contractor relationship, as long as you can deliver on targets.

The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Real Estate, you will support our overall strategy to acquire real estate for natural gas fueling stations through leases, purchases and partnerships. The first phase of this strategy has been to develop locations along major US interstates and, while that will continue, you will focus on the second phase: developing optimal locations in major metropolitan areas, such as near distribution centers; intermodal facilities; major intersections and so on.

Identifying opportunities to acquire properties to use for new natural gas fueling stations.

Assessing fueling requirements, property zoning, market dynamics and other criteria to identify properties suited for natural gas fueling station locations.

Coordinating with the Real Estate Contract Analyst, who will support you in contracting efforts.

More specifically, you will:
Utilize market research, market trends and other industry data to define real estate plans, identify new opportunities and minimize cost of acquiring real estate.

Travel about 75% of the time throughout your territory to conduct field research and site visits for projects, including site due diligence, planning, zoning, permitting, utilities, easements, restrictions and other considerations.

Negotiate business terms and conditions of contracts, maintaining ongoing communication with all external stakeholders including attorneys, brokers, owners and others.

Control the critical path of all projects and communication with internal team members including Sales, Engineering, Legal and Risk Management to ensure that all projects are expedited.

Identify opportunities for partnership with existing fueling networks.

Manage broker relationships.

Maintain project data in the project tracking system.

Assemble and present project information necessary for real estate approval by the Vice President of Infrastructure.

Represent Clean Energy in industry settings including but not limited to trade shows and conferences.
