Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the efficiency of procurement services by assigning duties and communicating pertinent departmental information to purchasing staff, creating, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, contacting and evaluating vendors, negotiating vendor pricing, selecting best quality, price and delivery method, preparing and issuing purchase orders and change notices, instructing staff on correct departmental policies and procedures, and providing guidance and training to staff as needed. - 40%
  • Assists departments by collaborating with and maintaining productive working relationships with department personnel, researching and analyzing new products, technology, and services upon request, monitoring casino purchases to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and gaming regulations, and researching out of compliance purchases and reporting to findings to appropriate personnel. - 40%
  • Ensures continuous improvement of purchasing services by proactively analyzing market and delivery conditions to determine present and future needs, analyzing the value of purchases for potential incremental improvements, and maintaining current knowledge of industry and purchasing related developments and innovations. - 10%
  • Hires and develops team members by communicating staffing and advertisement requirements to Human Resources, scheduling, interviewing and hiring best qualified applicants, monitoring team member performance, conducting performance evaluations, providing counseling, training, and guidance as needed, and generating the appropriate transactions. - 10%


    Education and Experience:


    Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
    5 years procurement management experience


    Experience in tribal gaming facility

    Skills and Knowledge:


    In-depth understanding of procurement processes
    Working knowledge of purchasing software systems
    Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
    Ability to apply knowledge and make sound judgments
    Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff
    Ability to interact effectively with team members, guests and vendors
