Working Title: Painter

Job Summary/Essential Functions: Responsible for all aspects of the painting function which includes preparing the surface, mixing and blending colors, moving furniture, painting and cleaning area and equipment.

Conditions of Employment: Successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-placement physical.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check for continued employment.
This is an agency shop position.

Monday - Friday
6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. or
Monday - Thursday
6 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires valid Driver's License.

Knowledge of: standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment of painting trade; characteristics of paints, varnishes, stains, shellacs, lacquers, enamels and solvents; methods of preparing metal, wood, glass, plaster, cement and other surfaces; safety precautions; possess basic computer skills.

Specific Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to read, comprehend and communicate in English.
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Apprenticeship in the Painting Trade or 5 years continuous experience as a commercial Painter.
