Minimum of 3 years Industrial
Journeyman Painting Experience
Must be able
to read and interpret prints, drawings and plans
Industrial Painting tools, power tools and layout
ability to apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to
buildings and structures using brushes, paint rollers or and/or spray guns.
Prepares the surfaces to be covered, so that the paint will adhere properly.
Will remove the old coats of paint by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning
or water and abrasive blasting.
Painters also wash structures to remove dirt and grease, fill nail holes
and cracks, sandpaper rough spots, and brush off dust. On new surfaces, will
apply a primer or sealer to prepare the surface for the finish coat. Will mix
paints and match colors, relying on knowledge of paint composition and color
harmony. Must be familiar with an
assortment of brushes, edgers, and rollers. Will paint and coat interior and exterior manufacturing
facilities and equipment such as storage tanks, plant buildings, lockers,
piping, structural steel and other equipment.
Must be able
to meet all physical demands and pre-employment

Physical demands and work environment:
Physical demands: Employee
will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending,
squatting and lifting. Will talk
and hear to communicate. Will use
arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull: objects, materials, controls and
tools. May be required to lift,
carry and move up to 25-50 lbs. May
be required to pass a fit test for respirator protective equipment. Will
occasionally work at heights, climb
ladders and stairways and work off of platforms. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long
distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Will be required to wear personal
protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety
glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and

Occasional cool days and rain.
Will work at an elevation of +/-1200 feet above sea level. Sand and dust clouds may be
frequent. Noise levels will be
moderate to high. Job site will
contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials,
communication equipment and tools.
