As SPE’s Legal Compliance Paralegal, you will work closely with in-house attorneys, outside counsel, and other professionals to support the SPE Legal Compliance team. Your responsibilities will include assisting with internal and external investigations, regulatory, and litigation matters; preparation of regulatory notifications and filings; administering legal compliance training; conducting e-discovery; and managing various databases that contain legal compliance data and documentation. Given the breadth of the role and global geographic scope, you will need to be highly flexible and self-motivated.
      · Support all legal compliance processes, including internal and external legal compliance documentation collection, preparation, review, and organization.
      · Organize in-person and online legal compliance training for internal teams.
      · Assist with management of various regulatory, litigation, and investigation matters.
      · Manage and maintain legal compliance databases and shared sites.
      · Provide general support for legal compliance as needed, including administration and management of e- discovery tools and processes.
      · Assist with designing and implementing new processes and procedures to support the continuous improvement of legal compliance processes and promote efficiencies.
      · Attend continuing education and/or skills development courses as necessary.
      · Special projects as requested.
      · Commitment to professionalism and ethics required.
      · Bachelor’s degree. Paralegal certificate or J.D. a plus
      • Experience as a litigation or regulatory paralegal or attorney in a large law firm or with an in-house legal department preferred.
      • Excellent analytical skills, well-organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
      • Flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of legal compliance matters (e.g., code of conduct, antitrust, privacy, anti-bribery, fraud, etc.) as directed.
      • Strong written and oral communication skills.
      • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
      • California Notary Public commission a plus.
      • Ability to interact comfortably and professionally with executives.
      • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team player mentality.
