High school diploma or GED; possession of certification as a paralegal or legal assistant; college degree preferred; four years of experience as a legal assistant; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the methods, sources, and materials of legal research. Basic computer skills are required with experience in Microsoft Word and Lexis, Westlaw or Case Finder desired. Ability to work independently and multi-task with ability to prioritize work flow. Also requires strong analytical as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Pre-employment drug testing and FBI criminal background check required.

Duties:

Assists attorneys with preparing responses to Motions for Discovery by reviewing offense reports and criminal complaints; conducts legal and factual research; summarizes research findings in written memos and prepares Brief in Opposition by reviewing trial transcripts and researching applicable statutes and case law. Performs other work as required.

Shift:

Monday - Friday; 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m.
