This position is responsible for providing legal support to the Business and Legal Affairs Department under the supervision of and reporting directly to Associate General Counsel responsible for supporting the Marketing, Entertainment, and Products departments in the Seattle, Washington headquarters.


This position has daily contact with the worldwide Corbis senior management team, all levels of Corbis managers and staff, as well as external contacts such as outside counsel and vendors.


Draft, edit, review, track and maintain contracts and licenses

Coordinate legal involvement in contracting process

Participate in calls and negotiation of contracts and legal provisions

Draft rules and disclosures for marketing promotions

Communicate with outside counsel independently and under supervision of an attorney

Coordinate projects or segments and phases of complex projects.

Work with highly confidential information

Maintain organized digital files as well as other routine legal and administrative tasks.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ progressively responsible paralegal experience in a fast-paced legal environment, preferably in both a law firm or a law office and an in-house legal department. Either Bachelor’s degree or paralegal degree/certificate is required; having both is a plus. Experience in drafting and transactional practice required. Westlaw knowledge a plus. Experience in any one of the following is a plus: Rights Clearance, Product Placement, Sponsorship and Advertising agreements, Intellectual Property (especially Copyright), Licensing, Contracts Review, Vendor and Contributor Agreements, Marketing Promotions. Demonstrated ability to identify need for and maintain confidentiality is required.

Candidate must have excellent interpersonal, organization, and verbal and written communication skills as well as a highly developed ability to manage a steady stream of information and document requests. Must be a flexible self-starter who is not easily frustrated and is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. Must be willing to contribute to the administration of the department, capable of working without supervision, under pressure and within short time constraints. Thorough knowledge of office practices and excellent computer skills using current Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access). Experience working with Serengeti and Prolaw a plus. Project management experience helpful as well.
