A Paralegal will utilize legal knowledge and administrative skills to assist attorneys with handling legal matters, and will provide day-to-day clerical services to maintain the overall functionality of the office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handle all discoveries, including but not limited to: Request for Production, Interrogatories, and Request for Admissions.
Draft pleadings such as: Motion to Strike, Motion for Continuances, Proposed Orders, etc.
Set hearings and handle non-jury trials/docket soundings.
Draft all correspondence to borrowers, Clerks, Judges, Clients, etc.
Update Client Systems for all contested matters.
Seek hourly fee approval for all matters and help maintain the budget for all Contested Matters.
Ensure all physical files are kept updated, maintained, and organized.
High School Diploma required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
At least two years of work experience in Employment Law
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles
The ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy
The ability to perform legal research
Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Open to change and willing to learn new skills
Ability to follow up on pending issues
Ability to meet deadlines
