This position supports Georgia Regents Health and The Office of Legal Affairs. The paralegal will assist and liaise directly with lawyers in all stages of corporate transactions, prepare, review and potentially negotiate legal documents, and research various and diverse areas of the law such as contracts, employment, privacy, corporate, immigration and tax. This position will also assist management with preparation of materials, logistics and record-keeping for corporate meetings, including board meetings. The position will be responsible for organizing, drafting and preparing responses to requests made under the Georgia Open Records Act.
Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited program with at least one year of experience in a professional setting, preferably in an in-house legal department or law practice. This position also requires technical proficiency in the Microsoft Office software and database management.
Must be highly organized and possess a strong attention to detail, along with effective written and oral communication skills. Must be motivated with a strong sense of commitment and responsiblity. Ability to combine working with others and independently is essential. Requires strong intellectual and problem solving skills. Should be a self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions, but also possess the judgement to determine when to either escalate an issue or seek appropriate guidance.
