Administers life support care to sick and injured persons according to the rules and regulations established by the Kentucky State Board of licensure, the Medical Director, and Methodist Hospital. Assesses nature and extent of illness/injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures and interventions. Under indirect remote supervision of Chief Paramedic. Sequences work in order of importance, and uses independent judgment based on the needs of the department, Hospital and community.
Required Skills
Licensed Kentucky Paramedic. Certified in CPR, ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, Hazmat Awareness Level, and Defensive Driving. Must be able to communicate effectively with departmental staff, other healthcare and response teams, hospital departments, Administration and regulating agencies. Recognizes dangers associated with emergency services such as but not limited to: infectious diseases, environmental conditions, hazardous materials, violent or dangerous persons, and dangerous traffic situations. Must be able to work under stress and conduct moderate to heavy lifting, including pushing and pulling.

Minimum 2 years experience as a shift EMT or six months Paramedic experience preferred. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills required.
