High School/GED

POSITION SUMMARY The employee must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide direct care to the age groups consistent with patients served in their position. The Paramedic renders direct patient care as an assistant to and under the direction of the ECC physician and the Registered Nurse (RN). The Paramedic collaborates with the RN on patient problems, uncertainty in method or procedures, and all incidents that might affect patients, personnel, and visitors adversely. The patient population can range from newborn to the geriatric patient. The Paramedic is administratively responsible to the Nurse Manager. QUALIFICATIONS Education High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a State accredited program. Current certification in the State of Ohio as an EMT-Paramedic. 3 years minimum experience as a Paramedic preferred. BCLS, ACLS and PALS provider certified. Effective communication skills. Successfully completes designated screening test(s). Computer Skills Basic computer skills including typing/keyboarding and ability to proficiently use a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Office.
