To provide basic and advanced life support care to patients in the prehospital and the emergency department settings. Supervises other emergency personnel at the scene. Serves as Incident Commander or Medical Officer for mass casualty situations. Works well as a solo practitioner among volunteer EMS personal. Competent understanding of paramedic level emergency medicine with ability to deliver patient care in a sophisticated and intelligent manor.
Nationally Registered Paramedic or State of CT Licensed Paramedic. 2 years recent full time equivalent field experience. AS or BS degree preferred.
Additional Job Requirements:
Must have exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and take control of chaotic situations while establishing treatment and situational priorities. Must maintain at all times: Connecticut paramedic license, ACLS, PALS, NRP (employer will provide) and BLS/CPR 'certifications'. Preferred certifications included; PHTLS, PEPP, GEMS and CEVO (or similar emergency vehicle operator’s course). Must maintain a valid driver's license.
