    Job Summary:

    Faith Community Nursing includes individual and group health education, counseling, health promotion activities, coordination of community resources and health screenings, and recruitment and training of congregational volunteers. Provides direct services to assigned congregation(s) and plays a highly visible role in the activities of the congregation; supports the spiritual, emotional, social and physical health of congregational members. Works closely with the pastoral staff to identify and follow-up on ministry opportunities based upon referrals and congregational assessment findings and.

    The Parish Nurse Coordinator has the overall responsibility for the Parish Nurse programs and services developed to support the process of community health enhancement for the Broward region. Establishes partnerships with faith communities to initiate and maintain parish nurse practices. Recruits and provides training, on-going support and supervision of Volunteer Parish Nurses. Develops and implements departmental policies. Ensures that established hospital procedures are followed. Oversees the daily operation of the program including community relations. Participates in the Community Outreach long term strategic plans and the Community Needs Assessment process and provides key insight to community needs and gaps. Identifies potential research projects and develops and monitors outcomes. Participates in seeking program funding through grants. Develops partnerships with various community.

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing preferable,

    Master’s Degree (or in progress) – Nursing, Public Health, related field

    Experience: Minimum of (5) years, direct care and management

    Evidence-based research

    Licensure: RN
