It is our mission to provide financial education to the public including free housing and credit counseling services to families and individuals in need. Novadebt provides exceptional counseling services that are available to the public regardless of income, financial situation, mortgage type or amount of indebtedness.

The Credit Counselor is responsible for providing financial counseling and financial education to consumers in need via telephone or face-to-face, including a detailed budget analysis. The Credit Counselor is also responsible for providing additional counseling to clients in financial distress or in need of additional financial education.
Provide financial counseling to consumers in need.
Provision of financial education to consumers as needed.
Heavy phone communication with consumers.
Prepare a detailed analysis of the consumers situation and provide appropriate solutions as related to the consumers need.
Contact clients, as requested, to discuss financial situation.
Attend training, as provided, on programs and services.
Provide bankruptcy education service as needed.
Review consumer credit reports and provide information regarding the report, as applicable.
Meet expectations regarding results and behavior.
Follow procedures as outlined in department manual and implement feedback provided by supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.

3:30pm to 7:30pm Wednesday through Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday.
8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday for four to six weeks.

Must possess strong communication skills (i.e. writing, speaking effectively one-on-one with callers as well as other employees).
Excellent time management and organizational skills are required.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally over the phone in a high volume inbound call center environment.
Must have the ability to listen.
Must be computer literate, have the ability to type at least 25 words per minute and be able to spend the day on the phone.
Must have the ability to show compassion while maintaining a distinct level of direction.
Positive attitude with the desire to grow within the organization.
Must become a Certified Credit Counselor within six months (study materials are provided).
A background in finance, customer service, social services or case management is preferred.
All positions at Novadebt are contingent upon passing a drug test and a background check.
