Use your skills and experience at Timberland Charter Academy to educate students backed by a national network of stellar instructional coaches, results driven curriculum and a community of educators committed to tracking results and challenging each child to achieve.
New to the field or teaching for years, NHA can help you to develop as an educator and ensure that you are one of the best at driving instruction with consistency and attention to the needs of every child in your classroom. Simply put, NHA is all about helping you thrive as a teacher.
Each NHA school is a special part of the community it serves, and also part of a larger network of 76 schools. Below are some of the features that make Timberland the place to continue your career in teaching:
• Student Impact: Timberland is dedicated to preparing its students for higher education. We do this by instilling a strong moral code of conduct, establishing good work habits, assessing student knowledge, measuring performance and growth and providing individualized instruction. It is the combination of all the above activities that allow us to be successful in impacting student lives.
• School Leadership: At Timberland, you will be supported by a cohesive administrative team. Our Deans avail themselves to provide teachers assistance with lesson plans, classroom management, professional development and instruction and this is done minimally on a weekly basis.
• School Culture: You do not work independently in your classroom at Timberland, but are part of a grade level team that meets weekly to discuss lesson planning and ensure that the students are achieving their learning objectives. The school provides a safe and secure environment for the students and staff alike, thus creating a real community feel that parents are a part of on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include fulfilling Special Education IEP objectives, working with students who are socially At-Risk, educating parents on intervention strategies, and connecting students and families with community mental health organizations.
School Social Workers will be held accountable for establishing relationships with both students and parents and participating in all aspects of school planning. We are seeking candidates that are reliable and punctual in order to provide continuity and stability for students and that demonstrate moral focus and personal values to students in everyday settings. Candidates should be self-starters with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for education.
Qualified candidates must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, a valid Michigan Social Work certificate issued by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, and knowledge of Special Education processes and procedures.
NHA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
