Applications are being accepted for a part-time, Administrative Assistant working 20-25 hours weekly in a job share capacity. The Administrative Assistant acts as the first point of contact for both internal and external customers contacting the Executive Department. This position provides general administrative support to the City Administrator, the Assistant City Administrator, Governing Body, Enterprise Systems & Technology and department staff members. Duties include researching, composing and editing various letters, memos and reports and distributing final documents; receiving inquiries, requests, complaints, comments, concerns, messages and requests for appointments from citizens, officials of other government jurisdictions, business community and news media; managing the City Administrator’s calendar; scheduling appointments; arranging and confirming meetings with City officials and various community organizations; provide scheduling support and assistance to the Mayor and Council members as needed; responsible for completing travel authorizations as well as processing purchasing and payment requests for Executive and Enterprise Systems & Technology; and other duties as deemed necessary. Position routinely handles sensitive information that requires a high degree of confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required with four years administrative experience preferably in a municipal setting OR any combination of equivalent education and experience. Applicant must have excellent communication and organizational skills along with the ability to handle sensitive materials in a courteous, professional and highly confidential manner. Strong multi-tasking and keyboarding skills and working knowledge of MS Office applications including word processing and spreadsheets are necessary. This is a job share position. The hours for this portion of the job share are M-F, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and background investigation. Starting pay is $15.61-19.35 per hour DOQ.
