The City of Lenexa is a dynamic and progressive city that is accepting applications for a Seasonal Part-time Basketball Scorekeeper. The Basketball Scorekeeper is responsible for supervising the adult basketball programs for the Lenexa Parks and Recreation Program. The scorekeeper is responsible for keeping score and time operations in accordance with the rules of the sport. This position is frontline staff and interacts with facility patrons and program participants. Must be able to work Monday and/or Tuesday nights from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm and be committed to work all sessions of the games. The fall session begins on 10/14, 2013 and the leagues run through 5/19/2014.
QUALIFICATIONS: HS/GED and at least 18 years old. Must have a thorough knowledge of basketball rules and be able to complete scorebooks during the games while working the scoreboard. Good customer service skills with a willingness to work with players before and after the games. Ability to work under stressful conditions and provide basic first aid when necessary. Must be able to work Monday and/or Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm from October through May. Salary is $16.00 per game. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and background investigation.
