Applications are being accepted for part-time, Customer Service Representative to work approximately 15 to 18 hours weekly in the Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department (LPRD). The hours for this position are Mondays 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesdays 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and every other Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position acts as the first contact for customers into the Parks and Recreation department. Duties include meeting and greeting customers; responsibility for all aspects of registering individuals for LPRD programs, memberships, activities and classes; as well as all aspects of reserving LPRD facilities. The Customer Service Representative also provides Concierge support at the Lenexa Conference Center and Legler Barn which includes greeting visitors, providing tours of the historical Legler Barn and any other set-up of the facility as needed during operational hours and events. Work may involve evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalent required with at least two years related clerical, customer service experience. Former experience in museum tours, event planning and meeting coordination, and/or experience as a team leader are preferred. Requires excellent public relations and communication skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to handle problems as they arise. The ideal candidate needs to be flexible and able to handle stressful situations. Salary is $13.00 per hour. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and background investigation.
