REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum language level 2/2. Recent DLPT or PQE scores and ability to provide a DA 330. SIGNIT Experience of 2 to 4 years.
GENERAL WORK KNOWLEDGE:
Linguists shall perform, on an as-needed basis, the specific language tasks listed below per respective category. (Note: Since much of the work performed shall assume a final format in American English, all linguists must also have excellent oral and written American English language capabilities.)
a. Transcription of spoken language into either the native language or a machine-compatible transliteration system;
b. Translation of spoken language or graphic material into modern American English in either full or gisted format;
c. Scanning of foreign language material and assigning disposition codes in accordance with established guidance;
d. Drafting of SIGINT reports as required;
e. Documentation of information gleaned from intercept regarding target, and provision of input regarding collection;
f. Analysis of material in and of itself or in light of other source information;
g. Sharing of language expertise with Government or Contractor Language and Intelligence Analysts, and other personnel, as requested by the Government;
h. Participation in Analyst-to-Analyst exchanges, seminars, conferences, or other as requested by the Government.
