As an ambassador of Eataly products and services, our Pastry Sous Chef is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. Eataly ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer.

Job Title: Pastry Sous Chef

Reports To: Pastry Manager

Job Description: Responsible for assisting with Eataly's pastry production, ensuring that the products produced in the pastry shop meet the quality standards established in conjunction with the Pastry Manager and Executive Chef.

Duties & Responsibilities:

--Complies with all recipes, portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures.
--Prepares dolci, pastries, tiramisu, cannoli, cookies and other Italian desserts.
--Tastes all foods prepared to ensure proper flavor, texture, and consistency, and that items meet established quality standards.
--Washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment, and counters required for production in the preparation area.
--Maintains a sanitary bakeshop that meets Department of Health standards

Minimum Qualifications:

--A minimum of two years in a pastry preparation position; must have completely open availability to suit the pastry kitchen's needs.
--Basic math and measuring skills required.
--Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable.
--Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
--Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to six hours in length.
--Ability to lift pots, pans, etc., up to 50 pounds in weight.
