High School Diploma
The Patient Access Services Representative processes inpatient and outpatient registration, outpatient surgery and emergency department registrations by means of the HBOC computer system or manual registration. This representative ensures completeness and integrity of admissions and obtains personal and financial information in a timely manner.
The incumbent must have above average communication skills, must work well with nursing services, physicians and patients. Must be able to demonstrate courtesy and patience in dealing with patients and others. Must be neat in appearance and have a pleasant personality.
This individual must be forthcoming, honest and cooperative in departmental matters involving self or others, and must promote the SRHS mission of "world class healthcare and wellness" and understands that the SRHS Corporate Compliance Program places the burden of proof on the provider to show that there was no intent to commit fraud.
High school graduate
Must type 30 wpm. Previous hospital experience desired. Computer knowledge helpful. Applicants with insurance background also helpful.
Manager or Supervisor of Patient Access Services Department
Must have good speech, hearing and vision. Must be able to make trips to other areas of the hospital. Escort patients when necessary.
