General Summary: To provide clerical duties and support for the Collection Department personnel. Review/distribute correspondence, update address corrections, input pertinent information from various system-generated reports to the patients’ accounts. Retrieve Medical Records and other documentation required by collection representatives to expedite reimbursement from the insurance payers. Process the monthly Bad Debt pre-list and credit card transactions. Answer telephone calls for the Customer Service Unit as needed, and assist the personnel to investigate problems/complaints to initiate resolution in a professional and efficient manner. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: High school graduate possessing two (2) years general office experience preferably in a physician or hospital setting Knowledge of basic medical terminology (helpful, but not required). Detail oriented with good problem solving skills Two years of mainframe based PC’s and PC software, preferably HBOC. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications i.e. Excel and Microsoft Word as well as manual dexterity. Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to prioritize and process flow of work for maximum results Ability to work under pressure Bilingual preferred (not required).
