Patient Appointment Coordinator

Due to expansion and growth, Wayne State University Physician Group, one of southeast Michigan’s largest multi-specialty practice groups which provides high-quality, patient-centered care at more than 100 locations spanning three counties is currently seeking to fill the Patient Appointment Coordinator position in our Consumer Relations Department at our Troy Location.

Responsible for servicing patients which include handling high volume telephone calls, scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance information to determine patient payment responsibility at the time of service and assisting the patients and providers of WSUPG with a customer friendly attitude.

Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelors Degree preferred at least two years experience in a call center environment and some experience as an appointment scheduler or medical assistant in a busy ambulatory care setting , strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be energetic and possess excellent analytical and written communication skills, as well as, the ability to work independently. Candidates experienced in IDX and/or bi-lingual in Arabic or Spanish are highly desired.
