This is a casual status position, and there is no guarantee of hours per week. This positon is not benefits eligible.Administers bedside nursing care and performs general unit duties under the direction and supervision of an RN. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit. The patient population would include: the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.The medical-surgical P.C.T. shall, under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.The medical-surgical P.C.T. shall be competent and current, adhering to established standards of practice and will engage in activities or behaviors that characterize professionals.The medical-surgical P.C.T. shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.Performs additional duties as assigned within the scope of the department.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYEE'S SUBORDINATE POSITIONS: NoneQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.High school diploma or general education degree (GED) if hired since 1/88. Prior to January, 1988, high school graduate or GED preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current certification in Basic Life SupportWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
