Performs duties including, but not limited to: appointment scheduling, pre-registration, obtaining managed care referrals and obtaining prior authorization for clinic procedures and out of state patients. Utilizes professional interpersonal skills and works as a team member with patients, staff, and physicians.
Schedules and pre-registers a minimum number of clinic and/or ancillary tests appointments per day, based upon the POD assignment.
Identifies payment source at time of scheduling appointment, verifying Medicaid/Arkids eligibility.
Schedules all patient appointments in correct clinic for correct time frame, using protocol guidelines and intake form appropriately.
Uses all possible resources (phone calls to work, home, or by mail when necessary) to notify patient and/or parents of clinic cancelations or schedule changes (within 1 day of change/cancelation).
Verifies via the Scrubber tool that pre-registrations are clear, correcting any errors identified.
Provides 24 hour or less response time to emails, and appointment requests.
Maintains the required amount of 'ready' time on the phone system
Remains in telephone queue 6.5 hours, with a 'Not Ready' time of less than 8 minutes when assigned to the phones.
Must be logged into the queue within 2 minutes of clocking for your shift.
Utilizes appropriate telephone etiquette at all times
Limits queue and hold times to a minimum.
Ensures referrals and or prior authorizations are obtained prior to the patient arriving in clinic.
Obtains PCP referrals and prior authorizations according to guidelines.
Resolve B/AR reminders within 60 days of the service date.
Other duties may be assigned that are in the determination of management associated with the position and are commensurate with the team members knowledge and experience.
Participates in cross training of new team members.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1 year Previous medical experience experience
Data entry required ( >6000 sph with no more than 10% error rate).
Ability to problem solve, organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
