Responsible for the administrative aspects of a patient population, specifically:
scheduling, assisting and directing patients in all administrative aspects of their care;
coordinating the referral process and all reporting and documentation functions related to the referral process; and managing patient access to assure maintenance of accurate patient demographics and insurance information. Implements and abides by customer service standards.
Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Maintain awareness, sensitivity, respect and knowledge of Cultural Diversity.
Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with coworkers. Patients cared for range in age from newborn through adolescence.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and responds appropriately to a changing work environment.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Experience in scheduling, multi-line telephone, health insurance plans is desired.
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing . Excellent customer service skills. Familiarity with computer applications preferred.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
