Perform check-in and check-out functions in one of 3 busy pediatric multispecialty clinics in the new Children's and Women's Hospital using MiChart. Answer and appropriately transfer phone calls. Generate appropriate paperwork for all patients arriving for appointments. Accurately complete lab requisitions. Schedule return visits. Distribute incoming mail to various staff within the clinic. Schedule patients for diagnostic studies and consultations in other clinics. Determine existence of previous registration and/or update insurance and demographic information for patients. Mail appointment confirmations, reminder notices and reschedule notices to patients. Schedule patients from waitlists and reschedule patients due to clinic closures, ensuring that families are notified of these appointments. Collect payments from patients using established guidelines. Ensure accurate cash reconciliation at end of shift. Provide information to patients regarding referrals and insurance questions. Shift hours are 9:30am-6pm M-F. Required Qualifications* Must be able to interact as an integral part of a diverse team that includes co-workers, physicians, and other medical center staff. Ability to process a high volume of incoming phone calls. Ability to perform different job functions accurately and simultaneously (multi-task). Knowledge of MiChart appointment scheduling and billing system a plus. Excellent computer skills. Experience in a medical office setting. Excellent customer service skills, both on the phone and face-to-face. Ability to be proactive in decision making. Ability to communicate openly with co-workers and supervisory staff. Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Excellent attendance. Work Schedule Hours are 9:30am-6:00pm, M-F.
