Nemours is seeking a Patient Services Specialist II - Primary Care to join our Children’s Health Alliance (CHA) team in Orlando, Florida. This position will be working in our Pediatric Primary Care office in the Waterford Lakes area. Our busy practice is seeking candidates with a positive attitude and experience in pediatric care who are interested in family-centered patient care. Office hours are Monday & Tuesday, 7:30am-7pm; Wednesday-Friday, 7:30am-5pm; and Saturday, 8am-12 noon. Shifts will vary.

Nemours Children’s Hospital is part of a multi-specialty group practice that provides pediatric care for children and adolescents with chronic or complex medical conditions in Florida, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. At Nemours, we take a whole-child approach to children’s health care — treating the whole child (not just the condition) and advancing life-changing research, prevention and education.

Perform as a customer service representative for assigned divisions, accurately obtaining and entering all essential information needed to complete registration and scheduling processes following standard business practices. Provide service to internal and external customers as a member of the clinic team and act as a resource to team members.

Customer Service: Answer phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner, triage call and handle appropriately.

Registration: Collect, maintain and ensure accuracy of information through the use of standard business practices.

Financial: Collect, verify and maintain patient insurance information, including authorizations and referrals.

Scheduling: Understanding visit types, templates and fundamentals of how to efficiently schedule a clinic session and reschedule cancellations, appropriately documenting correct cancellation reason.

Communication: Triage and manage electronic communication (Outlook, EPIC in-basket, Xtend) daily.

All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma required.

Minimum of two (2) years' medical insurance experience required.

Minimum of two (2) years' hospital or medical office experience required.

Customer service experience required.

Multi-line phone experience required.

Appointment scheduling experience required.

Medical terminology experience preferred.
