Assures smooth operation of the clinic patient flow. Employees serve as initial point of contact for patients and are responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records.
In addition, this position is responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department.
Most work is performed according to established procedures; problems of an unusual nature are referred to supervisor. Employees in this classification have no delegated supervisory responsibilities.
Work is performed in usual clinic conditions and requires a high degree of contact of both direct with patients, HSC staff, and insurance companies. Employees are responsible for cash.
Receiving all incoming calls for clinic and direct appropriately
Scheduling of new and return appointments
Requesting necessary charts from medical records
Receiving patients and processing all necessary paperwork relating to patient visits
Checking billing information
Making necessary corrections
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED . Two years of office experience.
