Protects life and property. Investigates and reports criminal offenses. Preserves order and peace. Identifies and brings to justice violators to ensure safe and expedient motor vehicle movement through traffic enforcement, accident investigation and care of the injured. All qualified candidates will be required to submit to a polygraph examination, appear before an oral interview board, as well as undergo a psychological examination, physical examination and drug screen. An in-depth background check will be conducted on successful candidates.|
An applicant must be at least 21 years of age and less than 45 years of age at the time of the entrance examination (or, if certified, at the time of appointment as a patrol officer). A person who is 45 years of age, or older, may not be eligible for a beginning position as a Patrol Officer.
