Job Title: Paver Operator

Summary: Operates an asphalt paver for highways, subdivisions, streets, and large patches. Direct trucks into hopper. Has strong knowledge of screed operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates asphalt paver and understand all operations and functions of the paver and grade control.
Assist with layout, distributor and labor when required.
Maintain a safe working environment for all activities on project
Provide minor equipment maintenance inspections such as daily cleaning, greasing, checking oil, transmission fluid and water. Perform minor repairs.
Communicate with engineer/inspectors

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least two years of experience required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems involving several variables.
No Computer skills needed.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Drivers license and clean driving history. CDL-A or ability to obtain within 60 days preferred.
This job has some supervisory responsibilities for support personnel around equipment.
