WILLCARE, a successful regional leader in the home health care industry, currently has a job opening for an Payment Posting Specialist for our Corporate Office in Buffalo NY. In business for over 25 years, WILLCARE operates Certified/Medicare, Long Term Care, Licensed/Private Duty, as well as non-medical services and supplemental staffing agencies. We provide qualified skilled and non-skilled services focusing on preventative, rehabilitative and therapeutic care to our clients in all applicable settings. We have branch offices in Western NY, Hudson Valley NY, Connecticut, and Ohio.

Job Title: Payment Posting Specialist

Job Department: Cash Posting Department


Responsible for accurately processing payments received from insurance carriers, personal payments, and collection agency payments and posting them to individual accounts. Accountable for reviewing 835 Reports (Electronic Remittance Advice) for all third party payers.


Process all credit card payments as received.

Ensure all payments and vouchers are identified and classified to the appropriate branch.

Research the account number with the appropriate patient data.

Balance all deposits and vouchers daily.

Research any missing or invalid account numbers, or if appropriate, submit them to the appropriate Billing Collections Specialist(s).

Follow sales adjustment policy when posting and deliver payment discrepancies to the appropriate Billing Collections Specialist(s).

Log deposit numbers and amounts onto the deposit log daily. Ensure deposit log is accurate.

Ensure proper controls are adhered to for accuracy and timeliness.

Scan posted deposits for departmental research and inquires.


High School Diploma / GED. Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing, Accounting, or Finance preferred.

Minimum one (1) year banking or billing experience.

Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Outlook and Word.

Thorough knowledge of AS400 and HCHB preferred.

Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail, and concentration in working with mathematical figures.

Strong organization skills required.
